MUSIC FAE

WITHERED HAND
Edinburgh's FAVOURITE DIY folk-rock troubadour Dan Willson brings new look Withered Hand to this special show, fresh from recording long- awaited second album.
"Killer melodies... wobbly folk grooves... tunes full of warm, woozy sing -song charm" (Rolling Stone)
"Beautifully constructed lyrical frameworks... on this banjo tinged brand of Caledonian gospel" (Mojo)

TEENCANTEEN (single launch)
are comprised of five girls: Carla Easton (lead vocals, keyboards), Sita Pieracinni (vocals, bass), Amanda Williams (vocals, acoustic guitar), Marlena Morris (electric guitar) and Deborah Smith (vocals, drums). Sunshine pop, girl-group harmonies and multi-melodies. Having collaborated with Eugene Kelly/The Vaselines; had their songs covered and released by BMX Bandits and spent time tinkering about in the Belle and Sebastian Studio – they’re now ready to release their first single Honey. Recorded at the Old Mill and mixed by Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral), this explosive single will be launched with love by Neu! Reekie! Records. Trust us, these will be collectors items. http://www.teencanteen.co.uk

READING & FILM SCREENING FAE

GEORGIO 'THE DOVE' VALENTINO & DAVID MCCLYMONT
WORK TITLE: It's a Funny Religion When You Pray, 'Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, Play a Song for Me'
American exile Georgio Valentino and Scottish exile (thus, naturally, in absentia) David McClymont present a rather Byzantine conceptual odyssey. "It's a Funny Religion When You Pray, 'Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man, Play a Song for Me'" begins with a decade-old, unreleased (one is tempted to add 'lost and all forlorn') Orange Juice tribute album (to which the boy Valentino contributed one of his first, faltering home recordings) and ends with an unexpected YouTube playlist (crafted this summer by Orange Juice's own bassist, McClymont) and accompanying text (written in alternately wistful and clinical prose by the present-day Valentino).
