This Neu! Reekie! Remain in Light we welcome EXITMAN, fronted by Portobello-bred actor EWEN BREMNER (a.k.a Spud from Trainspotting), who will be performing their brand new album SPRINTER for the first time to the wider public after several secret shows around Edinburgh. With experimental twinges of “soul, punk and samba” influences, ExitMan are a must see for fans with the finger on the pulse of electronic music. The band’s stop-start grooves are bound to bring out those smooth dance moves, as demonstrated here by Bremner in this music video.

MULTI-LAYERED TRIP-HOP, RNB & INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICA

sarasara3.jpg

French-native SARASARA’s boundary-pushing second album ORGONE, referring to a primordial cosmic energy that has never been proven by academic science, apparently effortlessly experiments with a mosaic of moods and layers of structured sound and stands out from it. The multi-layered artist creates a work between electronica, trip-hop and R'n'B with delicate pop elements, with sections sung in English and in French. Her track “Tinkertop” was a result of an impromptu collaboration with Libertine Pete Doherty, who describes her as “a siren”. This captivating album pushes the boundaries in distinctive fashion, comfortably setting SARASARA apart from the crowd.

“Really unnerving in the best way.” The Fader
“She could become an avant-scene star.” The Quietus
“s a r a s a r a is a captivating creative presence” The 405

SCOTTISH POETIC WIT

'JENNY LINDSAY is one of Scotland’s most lauded spoken-word poets. This Script is her most thematically ambitious and poetically playful work to date. The collection invites us to question the schisms in our ‘isms’, the relationship between the individual and the collective, and ageing in our gendered world. It asks if it is possible to rewrite our scripts on our own. With Jenny Lindsay’s trademark wit and lyrical deftness, This Script is a delving into complex and turbulent contemporary waters, with an ultimate striving for solidarity, empathy, love.'
