George Gunn
Thurso born and dwelling George Gunn has produced several series for BBC Radio Scotland and Radio 4, and his poems, reviews and essays appear in magazines and newspapers. He has published a number of pamphlets and small collections over the years, including Black Fish (Scotia Review, 2004), Winter Barley (Chapman, 2005) and The Atlantic Forest (Two Ravens Press, 2008). He has been Writer-in-Residence with both Banff and Buchan District Council and Orkney Islands Council. He is well known as a playwright with some twenty professional productions to date. From 1992 to 2010 he was Artistic Director of Grey Coast Theatre Company, which he co-founded; he also tutors in drama at North Highland College.

Emer Martin
is an Irish novellist, painter and film-maker who has also lived in Paris, London, the Middle East, and the United States. Her first novel, Breakfast in Babylon won Book of the Year at the 1996 Listowel Writers' Week. More Bread Or I'll Appear, her second novel, was published internationally in 1999. Her most recent book is Baby Zero, published in March 2007. Martin studied painting in New York and had a sell-out solo show of her paintings at the Origin Gallery in Harcourt St, Dublin. She recently completed her third short film Unaccompanied. She produced Irvine Welsh's directorial debut NUTS in 2007 and was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2000.

The Pastels
hailing from Glasgow the their early records for labels like Whaam!, Creation, Rough Trade, and Glass Records, had a raw and immediate sound, melodic and amateur, which seemed at odds with the time. Part of the NME's C86 compilation, their debut album was the much acclaimmed Up for a Bit With The Pastels and the follow-up camedin the form of Sittin' Pretty. Now signed to Domino Records, they have completed two albums, Mobile Safari (1995) and Illumination (1998) with a third on the way. Their most recent release was the soundtrack to David Mackenzie's The Last Great Wilderness (Geographic, 2003) which features a track with Pulp's Jarvis Cocker. In 2006, The Pastels developed and completed new music for a theatre production by Glasgow based company, 12 Stars. In 2009, The Pastels, in collaboration with Tenniscoats from Tokyo, Japan, released an album called Two Sunsets. Currently the band is

TeenCanteen
are a four girl group, their songs incorporate sunshine pop, girl-group harmonies and multi-melodies. They consist of Carla, Sita, Emma and Deborah. Despite being relatively fresh from the seed TeenCanteen have already played T in the Park; Wickerman Festival; Doune the Rabbit Hole and had a sell-out Sampler Launch at The Poetry Club. On top of that, guesting on their recordings are Dugals T Stewart (BMX Bandits) and Roy Moller (The Store Keys), with Eugene Kelly (The Vaselines) emerging as their nomadic fifth member. TeenCanteen formed out of the ashes of Glasgow band Futuristic Retro Champions (who played alongside the likes of The Vaselines, Friendly Fires, Glasvegas, and Kate Nash and had Turner Prize winning artist Martin Creed design the cover for their single 'May The Forth').
